New Faculty Program

New Faculty Program

The New Faculty Program was established to support tenure-eligible (TE), non-tenure eligible (NTE), and other full-time instructors as they join the W&M community. The on-ramp to all new faculty offerings is the Course Design Institute (CDI), which provides opportunities for instructors across all levels of experience to enhance and build upon course design knowledge and skills. We combine this with mentoring opportunities and a community devoted to coming together throughout the year to discuss questions about instructional practice specific to the needs of this group.

Course Design Institute

The New Faculty Course Design Institute (CDI) is a teaching & learning series that incorporates online asynchronous course design tutorials and resources combined with in-person deep dive opportunities focused on key instructional topics.

STLI Mentors

The Studio for Teaching & Learning Innovation seeks to give all new instructors the opportunity to learn from seasoned teaching experts as well as from each other to help them develop their own networks and communities from the very start.

Community Group

This group was created to support new faculty and continually develop their instructional practice alongside their peers. We share problems of practice and lessons learned through community conversations, book groups, and workshops. Coming Soon!
