I am a student interested in applying as a STLI Student Partner

Student partners will gain working knowledge of various programs and certifications that will contribute to their success at William & Mary and beyond. Students are trained to use the CASPA model developed in STLI to support consultations and training for multimedia projects. Student Partners explore and recommend the use of other software and tools from a list of recommended tools from STLI in consideration of the goals of the class relevance, accessibility, ease of use, and opportunities to collaborate. Student Partners designated to media production develop and practice skills with industry-standard media tools in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of tools, meet and learn from industry professionals, create content for their personal media portfolios, and gain working experience with clients to deliver impactful media. Ruth Bekele, Communications Assistant & Faculty Partner

“As a Student Partner and a Communications Assistant, I work to create graphics for the STLI team. This has allowed me to form relationships with the STLI faculty and student partners. Through my role, I am able to better understand why people work for STLI. These skills and experiences also serve as a great opportunity to get marketing experience since it is my minor.”

Tristan Ramage, Faculty Partner

“As a student partner, I help professors make the most of wonderful educational technologies. I also bring a student’s perspective to educational planning and course design. What I like most about being a student partner is the opportunity to share the tips and tricks I’ve discovered over years of using these educational tools.”

Grace Helmick, Media Production Assistant

“In working as a production assistant I’ve found the support and resources needed to truly advance my skills as a filmmaker. Various departments have not only engaged my video-making but have also expanded the realm of what I thought possible — from recording a single shot, eight-minute spoken dance performance to vlogging my own life, I feel as if I am growing as an artist as well as expanding my technical skills.”
