Established in 2019, the Studio for Teaching & Learning Innovation (STLI) was created to break through disciplinary silos, foster academic innovations, and more strongly connect with and lead colleagues across the university to advance teaching excellence. Our mission to connect, collaborate, and serve as a hub for instructors, co-educators, and students alike pushes us to serve the entire university community in responsive and strategic ways. One key effort is the reimagined STLI Fellowship Program – Fellows for Excellence in Teaching. For the 2021-22 academic year, STLI will offer two fellowships for continuing NTE, TE, and tenured instructional faculty from any school or department across the university with a focus on strategic priorities for the university and STLI related to teaching and learning. We are seeking fellows who will champion one of several university-wide priorities, including, but not limited to:

• Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
• Accessibility/Universal Design for Learning
• Sustainability
• Neurodiversity
• Experiential Learning
• Wellness and Flourishing

Funded through support from the Mellon Foundation, fellowships will include funding for a course reassignment upon consultation with the school/department OR an equivalent cash award, as well as a budget allocation for materials & supplies. The anticipated value of each fellowship is approximately $5000.

Successful applicants will develop learning opportunities and programming for instructors across the university in collaboration with the STLI Team. Each fellowship will also involve an individualized mentoring component with administrators and other campus leaders with an eye toward developing the leadership and community-building skills of the successful applicant.

We encourage applications that envision the following:

• pedagogical innovation within the applicant’s selected field,
• the design and launch of a program in the selected field,
• the development and fostering of a campus-wide learning community centered on the applicant’s focus.

Applications are due no later than June 4, 2021.
