Generative Artificial Intelligence @ STLI
The Studio for Teaching & Learning Innovation at William & Mary advocates for generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) use that amplifies human agency, inspires creativity, upholds ethical standards, and integrates awareness of environmental stewardship. We commit to the following practices in our work and collaborations:
- Aligning GenAI use with the university mission, vision, values, and guidelines
- Employing only university-approved GenAI tools and resources when data, security, and intellectual property are a concern
- Integrating human-centered GenAI that prioritizes holistic learning experiences
- Exploring the dynamic landscape of AI through professional development and community engagement
- Indicating the use of GenAI in forward-facing content (see AI Identifiers below)
For information and teaching resources on GenAI please see our Approaches to Teaching with Generative AI page.
